Sprachvogel — Terms of Service

Welcome to Sprachvogel. By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them.

1. The service

Sprachvogel is a personal German-language learning app offering vocabulary flashcards with spaced repetition, grammar lessons, and practice exercises. It is provided as an educational aid. We do not guarantee any particular learning outcome, exam result, or level of fluency.

2. Your account

  • You need an account (email and a display name) to save your progress.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You must be at least 16 to use the app.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse or disrupt the service; attempt to access other users' data; reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the app; or use it for any unlawful purpose.

4. Content and intellectual property

  • The app, its design, logo ("Sprachvogel"), and learning content are owned by us and protected by law. You may use them only to learn within the app.
  • Vocabulary, articles, plurals, and example sentences in the app are our own original content.
  • You keep ownership of anything you input (e.g., notes or, in future, text submitted to AI features). You grant us permission to process it only to provide the service to you.

5. Availability and changes

The app is offered "as is" and "as available." We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

6. Paid features (if introduced)

The app is currently free. If we introduce paid features or a subscription in future, the price, billing, and cancellation terms will be shown clearly before you pay, and these Terms will be updated.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sprachvogel is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

8. Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
